A “BOUTIQUE” FINE ART FOUNDRY
A “BOUTIQUE” FINE ART FOUNDRY
WHY
Having the best of intentions, and the highest of missions, must be supported through quality. At Black Hills Bronze, we love the work, and our decades of experience in the industry are evident in what is created here. We also believe that to do good work, we must create solid relationships. The foundry is a collection of professionals who operate as a family team.
The clients become members of this team, flowing into and out of the process as they require; experiencing an open dialog with the staff, so as to assure that their questions are answered; encouraged to speak clearly about what they want, so that we can give what they want.
Sculptor John Lopez says he appreciates Black Hills Bronze because he does not “feel like a number,” and he knows that we truly care about each detail of each piece.
Just miles from the country’s largest and most renowned sculptures—Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorials—Black Hills Bronze offers full-service bronze casting to artists, businesses, organizations, industry, and the public. While most of our work falls into the fine art category, bronze casting also has other applications in both private and commercial realms.
BEYOND FULL SERVICE: Unique in our industry, we provide unequaled one-stop shopping for commissions and retail sales—any project, no matter how far along, can be discussed, and then we “take it from there,” from concept to installation. For more information on beginning such a project, click HERE.
HOW
WHAT
As avid supporters of using creativity to help unify and strengthen, we believe in making connections. Connections between the elements—earth, fire, air, water—and what we make with them. Connections between artwork and the people who can benefit from it most. Connections between artists and those they serve.
Grant Standard, the inspiration for this foundry, loses track of the centuries and his own identity when he pours metal; he becomes so connected to the primordial that he might as well be an ancient Celt or Mesopotamian. The other artists and artisans who work here also connect in their own deep and personal ways. The result is that every piece of artwork touched here becomes a love letter, sent out into the world.
We believe that creativity can heal us, individually, tribally, and as human beings. And we believe that it will take all of us, working together, to save the world.
